This review also contains some important tips for people traveling with Intercaribbean.

For our trip from The Dominican Republic (September 2021) to Turks and Caicos we needed

-PCR test by Turks and Caicos approved health Centres in the Dominican Republic.

-Insurance for Turks and Caicos

-Hotel and onward flight reservations

-USA multiple entry tourism visa is acceptable for stays in T&C

-Travel authorization from T&C

When traveling on Intercaribbean it's extremely important to check the luggage requirements as they can change depending on the destination! Also the hand luggage and check-in weights are different from usual airlines.

The airline is considered one of the worst by tripadvisor reviews it has a 2 Star rating. A lot of problems can be resolved however by customers reading the website airline requirements.

A cabin bag is considered a small bag not the usual trolleys that most people carry. The maximum weight is 10lbs which is merely 4.5Kg.

"Each fare-paying passenger is entitled to carry on board (unless directed such be stowed in the aircraft hold) one piece not exceeding height of 9 inches, width of 12 inches and total length 16 inches, not exceeding a total weight of 10 pounds"

In our case our check-in bag limit was 44lbs or 20kgs. It varies by ticket and destination.

"When checking a bag that exceeds the single piece size limits, you can expect to pay additional costs for the carriage of such baggage. Additionally, we will not guarantee any oversize piece will travel on your flight. The maximum dimensions of a bag is 158 cm or 62 linear inches measured as follows ( Length plus Width plus Height). If your bag weighs over 70 pounds we will be unable to accept as checked luggage."

We each carried a check-in and we had one trolley and backpack. The trolley we expected to check-in which they asked us and you have to pay for it as an extra check-in bag.

Our flight boarded on time by bus. We drove off to the plane, on the way we could see multiple unique airlines from Venezuela.

We arrived at our aircraft.

VQ-TLR was delivered in 2001 to Alitalia and joined Intercarribean only in March 2021.

VQ-TLR an Embraer 145.

Intercarribean E-145 Cabin

There is no in-flight service, no water, nothing...

We received another 3 forms to fill regarding entry, customs and covid.

Once we arrived they again checked all documents at the passport control.

Intercaribbean is definitely not the best airline in the world, I have tracked their flights and they do often have delays and cancelations, they also seem to leave luggage behind when the planes are too full. Their luggage policy is unusual and their in flight service non existent.

In our case we can't complain though, the flight was on time. I read the luggage requirements and knew we would have to check in one extra bag. The requirements to enter T&C were slightly complicated but again manageable. I would definitely fly them again.
